Obituary

James R. (Jim) Logan entered into the next part of his eternal life on October 26, 2015, following a brief illness. His wife and best friend of nearly 35 years, Kathie (Phelan) Logan, was by his side. Jim was born on September 27, 1931 in London, Ohio. He was the son of Elizabeth (Drummond) and David Logan.

Jim was a Navy Veteran, serving as part of the UDT during the Korean War. Upon leaving the Navy, Jim worked for a major oil company for many years as a diver, cleaning sonar equipment on ships. He was also a machinist and worked in this trade after moving to Connecticut.

There were three places Jim and Kathie loved to go whenever they had a chance: The Florida Keys, where Jim lived for many years: Northern Ontario, Canada where Jim loved to fish for pike, walleye, and bass; and Rockport, Massachusetts, to enjoy the beauty of a quiet little seaside town.

Jim was a very kind man, deeply loved by many people. He made friends easily because he genuinely cared about each and every person he met. He loved to laugh and have a good time and the party never really started until he arrived. He will be deeply missed by many. In addition to his wife, Kathie, he leaves his much loved brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Kim Phelan, and his three adored nieces, Mel, Jenny, and Hannah. He also leaves his cherished godchildren, Heather Luria, Rebekka Fenn and RJ Fenn: and his extended family of friends: Bob & Terri Fenn, Russ & Liz Martinsen, Gordon & Lorna Eckman, Kathy Luria, Jason Luria, Barbara Martinsen, and Wyatt Martinsen. Last but not least, he will be missed by his beloved feline companions, SadieAnn and Scooter.

Jim truly enjoyed being a member of the North Congregational Church and was very happy to be part of such a caring group of people.
Jim's family would especially like to thank the compassionate people of Pomeroy 9, Waterbury Hospital, and VITAS, who did everything possible to provide the best care for Jim.
