MIDDLEBURY- James B. Grant, 55, of Middlebury, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Theresa (Melita) Grant.

Jim was born September 2, 1956 in Bridgeport, son of the late John and Lois (Kniffin) Grant. He has resided in Middlebury for five and a half years, previously living in Newtown for over twelve years. He was raised in the Lordship section of Stratford and had worked for over 25 years at Bridgeport Fittings, Inc. as a Quality Control Supervisor.

Besides his wife of over 28 years, he leaves two sons Richard S. Grant and George T. Grant of Middlebury, sisters Ellen McFarland, Caroline Cremin and her husband Robert all of Stratford, Sheila Tucciarone and her husband Jack of Oxford, brothers John Jr. "Jackie" Grant and his wife Karen of Milford, David Grant and his wife Shelly of Southbury, his father and mother in-law Anthony and Mary Melita of Stratford and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Richard.

Services: A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 1089 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.

Visitation: Friends may call the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School Street on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
