IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Arthur
Golden
August 28, 1954 – July 2, 2016
WOODBURY- It is with heavy hearts that the family of James Arthur Golden of Woodbury, announces his July 2nd passing. He was 61 years old.
Born on August 28, 1954, in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of Harold and Huguette Golden (both deceased). He leaves behind his two children, son, Ryan Andrew-Arthur Golden of Litchfield and daughter, Jaime Leigh Golden of Wolcott. In addition to his two children, he leaves his three sisters, Lori Ann Brophy, Nancy Amelia Peck, and Elaine Marguerite Peck. He was predeceased by his brother, Gary Thomas Golden.
James's children remember him as an accepting, non- judgmental, positive, loving father, who encouraged them to pursue their goals. 'He had a heart of gold."
James was an accomplished carpenter who often transformed the most rugged materials into polished masterpieces. He was an individual who loved all forms of life, and was passionate about animals. James cherished and pampered his grand-dogs, 'Buster, Brown the Clown' (Ryan's dog) and 'Brutacus, Broot Ma Goot' (Jaime's dog). In addition to Buster and Broot, many other dogs held a warm place in his heart, including: the late great Henry, Bart, Eli, Zion and Kaiser.
James was a "diamond in the rough." Although his exterior may have been hard and tough, his core was bright and vibrant. Beneath the pain was a softness, a gentle being, and that gentle being was Jim, the true Jim. He was a loyal friend and a kind soul. He often would attempt to share his humor with others, mostly harmless, but sometimes not. The most important aspect, simply, he was a funny guy. James brought a unique experience to anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He was your buddy, your pal, and every now and then your headache. His love was unconditional, and will live on through his two children, until it will live on through theirs.
James' children Ryan and Jaime, cite their memories of their father as a journey, a learning experience and something that has allowed them to appreciate the wonder of life. He taught us well, sometimes directly but many times indirectly. We have learned that, most importantly, over any material possession, is a good heart. At the end of our father's life he did not have much, but his heart was strong and golden. Through our father's experience we must conclude, that in order to take care of each other, we must take care of ourselves. In honor of his good heart and what he could not do, and in honor of him, we will do our best."
