Woodbury -
Mrs. Jacqueline Shea Shelnut, 75, of Main Street South, died Thursday November 22, 2007 at her home with her family by her side. She was the widow of Richard Edward Shelnut.
Mrs. Shelnut was born October 20, 1932 in Northampton, MA daughter of the late Robert Paul and Olive (Frenier) Shea.
She graduated from St. Michael High School in Northampton in 1950. She was the Captain of the Basketball and Softball teams all four years of high school. She was a 45 year resident of Woodbury, a town she was proud to call home. She was married for 47 years to her husband Richard. A beloved mother and grandmother, she exemplified selflessness, campassion and kindness. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters Lynn Martin of Orange, MA and Dianne Slater of Woodbury, a sister Maureen Heon and her husband Edward of Hatfield, MA, a brother Dennie Shea and his wife Elaine of East Hampton, MA, eight grandchildren, Mark Dumonski, Matthew Martin, Shanna Martin, Jason Pratt, Jeremy Pratt, Chelsea Slater, Joni Cotter and Sammy Cotter and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son Brian Shelnut.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday November 26, 2007 at St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury at 11:00am. Burial will follow at New North Cemetery, Woodbury. Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St., from 9:30 until the time of service. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
