Waterbury -
Mr. Jack W. Kurtz, 71, of Chestnut Ave., died Tuesday April 24th at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. Mr. Kurtz was born July 18, 1935 in Waterbury the son of Ruth (Wheeler) of Wallingford, and the late George Kurtz. He was a Crew Chief Mechanic in the Air Force during the Korean War era and then worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a House Keeping Supervisor until his retirement. He was a skilled carpenter and an avid fisherman.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Mark Kurtz and his wife Eileen of Wolcott, a daughter Lorraine Thornton and her fiancé©e David Bernard of Bolton, MA, three brothers George Robert Kurtz, Ned Kurtz, and Harry Kurtz all of Waterbury, a sister Ruthie Kurtz of Wallingford, three grandchildren, Melissa Thornton, Jordan and Stacie Kurtz and several nieces and nephews.
All services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospital, 56 Franklin St., Waterbury, CT 06706.
