J. Peirce Behrendt, 72, of Southbury died Friday April 3, 2009 at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Janet Clare (O'Brien) Behrendt. Mr. Behrendt was born June 13, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois a son of the late James and Cecile (Anderson) Behrendt. He worked for I.B.M. in Southbury for many years and for the town of Southbury's Zoning Board of Appeals for 19 years. Mr. Behrendt helped develop the Special Olympic Unified Softball Team at the Southbury Training School. He took the pictures for the new Southbury Library brochure and presently has two of his pictures of the new library displayed at the State Library in Hartford.
He is survived by his loving wife Janet and his brother George Behrendt of Germany.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 7th at 11: 00am at the United Church of Christ, Main St. North, Southbury. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, on Monday April 6th from 4: 30 to 8: 00pm.
