Irene T. Luongo, age 82, entered into eternal rest at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT on Sunday, March 17, 2013.
She was born July 31, 1930 to Leon and Helen Milko Mayer in Holyoke, MA. She lived most of her life in Norwalk, CT before moving to Woodbury, CT in 2006. While living in Norwalk, she worked for many years at Silvermine Tavern from which she retired. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and playing the slots, dining out and spending time with her children and granddaughter.
Mrs. Luongo was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Vincent Luongo in 2006. Her survivors include her daughter, Donna-Marie Szabo of Bridgeport, her son Michael of Roxbury and her beloved granddaughter Katherine Szabo, also of Bridgeport.

Memorials: The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to River Glen Health Care, Center, 162 South Britain Road, Southbury, CT 06488.
