It is with great sadness that the family of Huguette Madeleine (Rose) Golden, beloved wife of Harold Frederick Golden (deceased) of Woodbury, Connecticut announces her passing on January 1, 2016. She was 89 years old.
Born on August 19, 1926 in Fouday, the province of Alsace Lorraine, France, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marguerite Rose. Huguette was the sister of Lillian Russo of Pennsylvania.
Besides her sister, she leaves her four children, son James Arthur Golden of Woodbury; her daughter Lori Ann Brophy and her husband John (Jack) of Watertown; her daughter Nancy Amelia Peck and partner Kevin Klimak of Woodbury; her daughter Elaine Marguerite Peck and her husband Steven of Woodbury. She was predeceased by her son Gary Thomas Golden. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren; Regan Rowley and her husband James of Willington; Amber Bertolette of Laurel, Maryland; Daniel Bertolette of Middlebury; Lindsay Madeleine Spohn and her husband Gary of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, Mallory Nicole Peck of Chicago, Illinois; Ryan Andrew-Arthur Golden of Litchfield; Jaime Leigh Golden of Woodbury; Adrian Harold Peck of Woodbury; Nathanael Stanley Peck of Woodbury. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Huguette was the embodiment of unconditional love and she possessed a kind, gentle, and resilient soul. Whether she was baking in her kitchen with her family and friends surrounding her or she was serving students at Rochambeau Middle School, one thing remained, anyone who came into contact with her was all the better for it. Huguette was undoubtedly the most radiant light and her infectious giggle, her acceptance of all, and her sheer love of life will be sorely missed.
