Hope J. Clark, 101, of Southbury, formerly of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Pomperaug Woods Health Center. She was the widow of Adrian N. Clark. Mrs. Clark was born October 19, 1907 in Pawtucket, RI, daughter of the late Harry G. and Ann Boehnke James. Mrs. Clark was a graduate of Emerson College in Boston and taught drama classes there as well. She was the staff pianist for the Boston radio station WEEI and was a professional accompanist for many artists in Boston. She was an accomplished church and concert singer in the New England and New York area. Mrs. Clark was a member of the North Congregational Church in Woodbury and for many years was a vocal coach and choir director for the church's junior choir.
She was a school aide and also planned and produced musical programs at the Lutheran Home in Southbury. She was a former member of the American Guild of Organists, the Chorister's Guild and the Phi Mu Gamma Sorority.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her son, Raynor W. Clark of Killingworth and 3 grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Ruth J. Davis and Edith J. Yeaton.
