Dr. Heng Liem of  Heritage Village, Southbury, CT, passed on September 28, 2018 at his home.  Dr. Liem was born November 22, 1928 in Jakarta Indonesia. He was a graduate of the University of Indonesia where he earned a medical degree, and soon thereafter became an assistant professor of biochemistry.  Dr. Liem received fellowship to Harvard University and Cornell University where he continued his research training in advance radiation hematology.  He was engaged in metabolic research for many years at Scripp's Clinic in La Jolla, California before retiring to Southbury in the early 1990s with his late wife Dr. Anne Liem.  Dr. Liem was an avid tennis player and enjoyed traveling to California and Indonesia to visit family and friends.

Dr.Liem is survived by a sister, Kumala Liem Kian Nio, of Jakarta, and several nieces and nephews.
