Obituary


Helen Marchenko, 89, of Southbury, wife of the late Peter Marchenko, passed away February 23, 2014 surrounded by family at Yale New Haven Hospital. She served at the Naval Station in Banana River FL. during World War II and worked at Uniroyal in Naugatuck for 17 years. Helen adored her family and loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mother of Patricia (Martin) Salinger, Richard (Deborah) Marchenko, and Robert (Deborah) Marchenko. Grandmother of Katie (Cody) Maresh, Shea and Tia Marchenko, Great grandmother of Ewan Maresh. She is survived by sisters Jane (Joseph) Mack and Irene O'Keefe as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Marie (O.V.) Delle-Femine.

Cemetery: Mt. Olivet Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Funeral: Sacred Heart Church

Services: Funeral mass will be 10: 00 a.m. Saturday March 1st at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday February 28 at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury.
