Helen Turner LaFond, 88, of Southbury, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the widow of Kenneth G. LaFond. Mrs. LaFond was born May 28, 1922 in Kineras Mills, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah Wilkins Turner. Helen was the best mom who loved knitting and baking. She is survived by her daughter, Donna York and her husband David R. York of Southbury; a sister, Annie Gaiko of Hancock, VT; 3 grandchildren, Shane York, Brett LaFond, Jeanine Hannon and her husband Dirk; 2 great grandchildren, Champ and Darby Hannon. She was pre-deceased by a son, Lawrence LaFond, a sister, Gladys Densmore and a grandson, David R. York.
