Helen M. Russell, a resident of Heritage Village, passed away Monday, July 9. She was 89. Helen was born in Norwalk on August 18, 1928, the daughter of John and Mary (Maher) Flynn. She was the beloved wife of James Russell "for 67 years and two weeks." James passed away on October 15. 2016. Helen is survived by four children and their spouses: John and Ellen Russell of Trumbull, Cynthia and James Sturges of Roxbury, Alison and William Brotherton of Danvers, Mass., and Mary Ellen and Paul Hill of Newtown. She also leaves her much-loved grandchildren: Andrew Russell of Trumbull, Charles Hill and his wife, Brittany, of Stratford, and Casey Hill of Salem, Mass. Helen and Jim raised their family in Redding, and also resided in Norwalk, Punta Gorda, Fla., and Southbury. They enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren on the beach on Jekyll Island, Ga., and relished vacationing with their family in Rockport, Mass. Funeral services will be private. Donations to a charity of your choice in Helen's name are welcome. Munson Lovetere Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
