IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harvey
Buckwald
September 26, 1935 – April 30, 2015
Harvey Buckwald of Southbury, CT (formerly of Pleasant Valley, NY) passed away at the age of 79. He was born in the Bronx, NY, the son of Emil and Regina Buckwald. He attended Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY where he met Ann, the love of his life. They married in 1957. Soon after, Harvey entered the US Marine Corps, servicing the Marine's Skyhawk A4D carrier based aircraft. He remained an avid aviation buff for his lifetime.
He and Ann had three children and in 1975, moved the family from New Jersey to Pleasant Valley, NY where he was employed by IBM as a packaging engineer and, later, a manager. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor's degree at Marist College. Harvey's priority was always his family, whether coaching his children's many sports teams, leading scouting groups or relaxing on vacations together. He also enjoyed woodworking/carving, painting and sketching. In his later years, he enjoyed sharing all of these activities with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Ann; children Scott (married to Marina), Lauren (married to Michael DiMartino), and Karen; his grandchildren Theo, Julia and Tyler; his sister Ronni (married to Andy Moss); his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and two nieces and three nephews.
