SOUTHBURY- Mr. Harry G. Tyson, 94, of Southbury, died September 28, 2016 at Danbury Regional Hospice. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Person) Tyson.
Mr. Tyson was born November 21, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Harry and Louise (Holm) Tyson. He has resided in Southbury since 1993 having lived in Heritage Village and presently at Pomperaug Woods and previously living in Long Island, NY. Harry enjoyed 59 years of marriage to the late Josephine (Person) Tyson. Mr. Tyson was a land surveyor for the State of New York for 30 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. post of Southbury and a past member of the Men's Club in Heritage Village. He was also a life member of the New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors, Inc. Mr. Tyson was a US Army veteran of WW II having been discharged as sergeant. He enjoyed music and singing and enjoyed playing poker.
He is survived by a daughter, Robin Christine Stoehr of Manhattan, NY, several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and his companion, Phyllis (Hamilton) Babb.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Tyson.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday from 2-4PM with a service at 4PM, at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
