Obituary

Hans Frohlich, 81, of Southbury, Connecticut passed peacefully at home on August 10th, 2024.  Hans was born to Hans and May Frohlich in NYC on March 3,1943 and grew up in Queens, NY.

He earned his bachelor degree from Long Island University, his Masters in Education from St. John's University and his 6th year degree from Central Connecticut State University.  Hans began his career teaching in Queens, NY and then became a guidance counselor in New Rochelle, NY.  He finished his guidance career in Danbury High School helping many students along the way until retirement in 2004.

Hans was also a talented stained-glass artisan who enjoyed teaching his craft at the Brookfield Craft Center for 20 years and was active in the Heritage Village Stained Glass Club. He created many lasting works for area homes, businesses and churches including a Masonic window for his Lodge in Sandy Hook. He especially enjoyed repair and was proud to have repaired the Union Savings Bank of Danbury's Tiffany clock on Main Street and other unique antique stained-glass pieces. Hans also loved dancing and for many years enjoyed German, Latin and ballroom events.

Hans is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Margo Frohlich, his son, Richard Frohlich, daughter, Lauren Shreve, their mother Carolyn Benninson,  grandchildren Benny and Madeline Shreve and Dillon, Emily and James Frohlich. Also stepsons Colby, Jack and Mike Lewis.

A Celebration of Hans' special Life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, September 14th, from 1-4 at The Brunch House 1850, Southbury, CT.
