H. Daria Mattox, 85, died Monday, January 11 at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. Ms. Mattox was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, November 3, 1924, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Whalen Hickey. She was one of the pioneer antique dealers in Woodbury, establishing Daria of Woodbury Antiques in 1972. Specializing in American folk art, political antiques and Victorian and early country furniture, Daria quickly established herself as one of Woodbury's most popular dealers with a great eye for exceptional pieces. She continued to attend auctions and collect antiques until her final days.

Ms. Mattox leaves daughter, Amy Mattox, of Aliso Viejo, CA, son Wayne Mattox of Woodbury, CT and his wife Kathleen Dowd, son Keith Mattox of Cary, NC and his wife Nanette and their son Evan.

Services: A memorial mass for Helen and John with urn present will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10: 00 a.m. at St. Teresa's Church, Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will follow in New North Cemetery, Woodbury.
