Grace Gilombardo Woller, 82, after a valiant struggle with lung cancer,
died peacefully with grace and dignity on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Danbury Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 20, 1927 to Angelina Buongiovanni and John Gilombardo, she resided in the Bronx, N.Y until moving to Lake Waubeeka, Danbury, Ct. In 1996 she moved to Heritage Village, Southbury, Ct. She is survived by her two children, Sherry and John, stepdaughters, Barbara and Anne, sisters Violet and Gloria, grandchildren Harry, Andrew, Anthony and Steven and nephews Emil and Alan.

A hair dresser and cosmetologist by profession, her greatest love was drawing, writing poetry and music. She had many works published in various publications including Bertrand Russell Today, Catholic World and Three Contemporary Poets: Delina Margot-Parle, Aaron Schmuller, Grace Gilombardo Fox. Grace was noted in the community for her "Rhyme Scene" presentation of her works. Her poetry reflected her life experiences, relationships and struggles and her positive view of the world. She loved words and play-on-words; she was the only person we knew who could complete New York Times crossword puzzles without cheating. Her empathy for others was one of her greatest attributes and she was extremely sensitive to those less fortunate. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 17th at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
