Gordon Wayne Woodbury, formerly of Mystic, CT and Westerly, RI, died peacefully on March 23, 2024 at River Glen Healthcare Center in Southbury, CT, surrounded by his family. Gordon was born on February 3, 1930 in Mystic, CT to the late Robert Clift Woodbury Sr. and Nina Beatrice (Greene) Woodbury. He was a 1948 graduate of Robert E. Fitch high school in Groton, CT. He married the love of his life, the late Sandra L. (Kenyon) Woodbury on June 9, 1956. Together they raised 3 children. He retired from the Narragansett Electric Company in 1992, after 38 years of service.

He is predeceased by his parents, Sandra, his beloved wife of 59 years, a brother, Robert Clift Woodbury Jr. , a son, Scott Woodbury, and lifelong friends, Bill Thompson and Ralph Duda. He is survived by a son, Dr. Dale Woodbury (Kathy) of Leeds, UT and a daughter, Dr. Heather Woodbury (Kathy) of Woodbury, CT.

The family would like to thank all of his remarkable caregivers at River Glen Healthcare Center for their loving care for the last 12 months.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gordon's memory to The Jimmy Fund.
