IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria (Horenbein)
Aronheim
November 30, 1940 – November 30, 2023
Oxford- Gloria (Horenbein) Aronheim, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community, passed peacefully on May 12, 2024 at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving children. She was the devoted wife to Richard for over 60 years.
Born on November 24th, Gloria's journey began with a passion for education, graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in primary education. But her true calling lay in architectural and decorative design, where she showcased her immense talent and creativity.
Gloria's professional endeavors were creative and versatile. Together with her husband Richard, she co-founded Gloria Richards Gifts and Gloria Richards Lighting. Additionally, she established her own personal business, Gloria Richards Designs, and was sought after for her innovative touch. Her keen eye for detail and innate sense of style permeated every project she undertook, whether she was enhancing the beauty of residential spaces or crafting inspiring designs for large-scale office buildings. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gloria was renowned for her timeless elegance, which transcended into all aspects of her life.
Never one to idle, Gloria embraced life with energy. Whether she was on the tennis court, engaging in a spirited game of mahjong, or relishing quality time with her children at Ridgewood Pool Club, Gloria enjoyed being social with her family and friends. Her love for New York City was palpable, and she eagerly seized every opportunity to immerse herself in its vibrant culture, from attending shows to meeting up with her friends to try a new restaurant. Additionally, she cherished her Shabbat dinners with her dear friends, finding joy and comfort in these gatherings.
Gloria remained steadfast in her commitment to giving back. A devoted member of her temple and an active participant in Jewish community events, she exemplified the values of compassion and generosity. Gloria's strength of character and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her, earning her a reputation as a beacon of resilience and determination.
Above all, Gloria cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, whom were her pride and joy. Her home was a sanctuary where loved ones gathered, and her table was always laden with food and laughter.
Gloria is survived by Richard Aronheim, her cherished children, Amy Fradkin (Gregg Fradkin), Marnie Aronheim (Craig Walder), Jeffrey Aronheim (Nhi Hearn), and her adored grandchildren David and Alec Fradkin, Jacob and Max Rockhill, and Max and Sarah Aronheim.
