Glen "Sam" Salokas

Beloved husband, father and poppy

Sam Salokas of Woodbury, passed away peacefully, after a long illness on May 7, 2021 at Saint Mary's Hospital, in the Vitas Unit.

Sam was born November 2, 1952 in Waterbury, the son of George and Helen (Bakitis) Salokas. He grew up in Middlebury and was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. Sam was a standout pitcher in high school and graduated from Southbury High School in 1971. He then played baseball at Western Connecticut State University. He enjoyed watching spring training in Florida and cherished the times he went to JetBlue Park in Florida for spring training.

In addition to Lesley, his devoted wife of 45 years, Sam is survived by his daughter Lesley (Eric) Dieffenbacher of Dallas, PA and his son Denis. His grandchildren Liam, Emily, Elena and Isabella. His brothers Gary (Darlene) Salokas of Oxford, CT and Mike (Cindy) Salokas of Washington State. Sam was predeceased by his parents and his brother George Salokas.

Services are private. Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home is assisting the family.
