SOUTHBURY- Gladys C. Abajian, 90, of Southbury, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Pomperaug Woods Health Center.

Miss Abajian was born March 7, 1919 in New York City, NY, daughter of late Charles and Elizabeth (Kourian) Abajian. She was a resident of Pomperaug Woods Health Center and formerly of Heritage Village. Miss Abajian retired from Shell Oil Company of New York City and Houston, TX.

While in Heritage Village, she was a member of the Business & Professional Women's Club, Heritage Village Women's Exchange, Village Library and Concert Society. She also served as a volunteer at the Glebe House and Southbury Food Bank. Miss Abajian was founding member of the Southbury Community Thrift Store where she served on the Board of Directors and a member of the Church of the Epiphany, where she served on the vestry.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Aram, Edward and Albert Abajian.
