Obituary

Ginny Greenberg, 56, of Southbury, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the loving wife of Alex Greenberg. Ginny was born March 13, 1958 in the Bronx, NY, daughter of Alfred Saenger and the late Virginia Roth Saenger. Ginny received her Bachelors, Masters and 6th year degree in Special Education from Southern CT State University. She worked as a receptionist at the office of Dr. Alan Siegel in Southbury. Ginny loved her job and enjoyed meeting and talking to her patients and making them feel special and at ease. Ginny had a quirky sense of humor and had a genuine desire for everyone to be happy. Ginny was a UCONN basketball fan, much to the amazement of her family and herself, given that neither side of the family had any interest in sports. She loved to read and spend time with her husband, who she met as a student at Southern, sitting next to each other in the orchestra. They recently celebrated 30 years of marriage with a ceremony to renew their vows, which brought Ginny much happiness. She was a member of B'Nai Israel and for more than 20 years, made the Challah for Friday night services. Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her son, David and daughter Sarah; two sisters, Katherine Saenger and Elizabeth Saenger.
