Gilbert Taylor Knorr, 76, of Heritage Village went to be with the Lord on Monday August 25, 2014 at Danbury Hospital with his wife and best friend Rita by his side.
Gilbert (Gil) was born on April 17, 1938 in Manhattan, New York to the late Gilbert P. and Grace E. (Taylor) Knorr. He was a retired computer programmer from IBM working there 30 years.
Gil was an avid sailor, racing Hobie Cats on the water, being a member of Candlewood East Yachting Club and on the ice with the Westchester Ice Boating Club. Gil was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races. Gil and his wife Rita were at one time full time RVers, travelling the entire US for five years.
In addition to his wife Rita of 27 years, he is survived by 3 sisters, Carol Chambers of Sarasota, FL, Nancy Cope of Beach Haven, NJ and Janis Weber of Sylvania, OH, and 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gil's name to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Dr. Wallingford, CT 06492.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 6th at 11am at Calvary Chapel 134 Main St. South
