Southbury- Gerard ("Gerry") Albert Cloutier, 81, of Southbury passed away on January 9, 2024 at Danbury Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Courtney Cloutier for the last twenty-four years, who passed away on Christmas Eve, and of the late Yvonne Cloutier for thirty-one years.

Gerry was born in Danielson, CT on May 2, 1942 to Albert Cloutier and Clara Filiatreault Cloutier, and was the oldest of three children. After graduation from high school, Gerry left the small town of Danielson and joined the Army. It was during his military service that he met his future wife, Yvonne Cloutier, an English native. After spending only one short week with her, he knew she was the one and the two later married and settled in Trumbull, Connecticut. Gerry and Yvonne had one son, Keith Cloutier, who currently resides in Southbury with his wife, Marcia.

Gerry graduated from the University of Connecticut and had a distinguished career holding various executive and consulting positions in the fields of IT and Accounting. After Yvonne's untimely death, Gerry met his beloved Courtney and the two were later married in their home on Jeremy Swamp Road in Southbury.

Gerry and Courtney thoroughly enjoyed retirement. They were avid golfers and loved to take long rides together to experience new locations and places to eat. Gerry was smart as a whip and the ultimate storyteller - always captivating his family and friends with the adventures of his well-lived life.

Gerry is survived by his son, Keith Cloutier and his wife Marcia of Southbury, as well as several nieces and nephews, their spouses, and children.

A memorial service will be held atSacred Heart Catholic Church in Southbury on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10:00 am.
