George T. Sloss Jr., age 61, a longtime resident of Watertown, CT, passed away unexpectedly in April 2026. George was a man of immense spirit, known for his vast knowledge, his "can-do" attitude toward any challenge, and a heart that was always open to helping others.

Born December 21, 1964, George was the eldest of four children & the son of the late George T. Sloss Sr. & Eileen V. Nadeau. After graduating from Watertown High School in 1983, he followed in his father’s footsteps as a skilled electrical contractor. While he took great pride in his work, his greatest accomplishment & source of joy were his children.

George is survived by his three children, Brandon, Alyssa & Brittany Sloss, and his son-in-law, Zach, whom he loved as his own. He leaves behind his siblings, John Sloss, Christine (Sloss) Sacramone, and Michael Sloss, along with a community of friends who were touched by his genuine care & eagerness to help.

Family was the cornerstone of George’s life. He cherished memories of family time spent on Cape Cod. He was a best friend & a devoted father who reminded us of the importance of honoring the past & holding onto the memories of our loved ones.

Dinner with George was never just a meal; it was an event filled with laughter, love & his incredible ability to recall the finest details of a life we were lucky enough to live beside him. He carried a bit of magic inside him, creating moments that can never be replaced. His infectious laugh, his never-ending appetite at family gatherings & the hours spent talking on the phone are memories that will be held close forever. George was a strong, gentle & extraordinary man whose legacy of love will carry on in each of us. His genuine care, eagerness to help & his interest in others was deeply touching. There's an empty chair at our table now, but George’s spirit will always have a seat.

George’s passions were as vibrant as his personality. He had a lifelong love for cars & a mechanical mind that could bring any engine back to life. In recent years, he found a second home at the fairgrounds, where his skill & competitive spirit earned him prizes in tractor pulls & connected him with a community he truly loved.

If George could speak to us now he would wish for us to fill our lives with what matters, find happiness even in the most challenging of times, love one another, avoid the noise that distracts us from truly living a wonderful life, find peace & calm in your life, and be honest with yourself & others. He would want us to live life on our own terms, God knows he did!

Join us in honoring his memory, grant him these wishes & make him proud. George will never be forgotten. He was a remarkable man with more resilience than anyone we know. “George, we love you, we will forever miss you, we will honor you & forever be grateful for having you by our sides.”
