IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George W.
Gerwien Iii
September 6, 1942 – June 7, 2020
***Update A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Church of the Epiphany at 10:00 A.M.*****
G. William (Bill) Gerwien went home to our Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Bill was born and raised in Devon, CT., where he worked as a young man at Kelly's Marina. Becoming a skilled mechanic and metal fabricator, he spent his adult life working for DiCamillo & Sons and O. & G. Construction. Referring to himself as a "Swamp Yankee," Bill had a fondness for Vermont, antique tools, old cars, dogs, and horses. He was a devoted husband to Harriett (Mandi) Gerwien, loving father to Christopher Gerwien, and beloved patriarch to his extended family. "Bill stories" will keep his presence alive among us.
Bill will be laid to rest in a private ceremony; a celebration of his life is planned for the fall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Southbury Food Bank, P.O. Box 68, Southbury, CT 06488 or your local food bank. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com.
