George B. Dixon, 78, of Southbury, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Burke) Dixon, his wife of 45 years. Mr. Dixon was born July 30, 1931 in Queens, NY, son of the late Lawrence and Mae (Bigley) Dixon. Mr. Dixon was honorably discharged from the Air Force as an Airman First Class in 1959. He then spent the majority of his career working for the Long Island Rail Road. He started as a trainman and retired from a position in management. He then began his second career as a printer for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Mr. Dixon was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury. He is survived by two daughters, Celeste Porter and her husband Matthew of Littleton, CO, Gail Cronin and her husband, Dr. Joseph of Clarence, NY; 3 grandchildren, Ian Porter, Sean and Maeve Cronin.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 21, at 10: 00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury. Burial will be private in the Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the daily chapel of the church.
