Mr. George H. Crownshaw, 72, of Middlebury died Tuesday May 29th at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Edna (Bioski) Crownshaw.
Mr. Crownshaw was born May 17, 1935 in Woodbury, son of the late George and Dorothy (Lockwood) Crownshaw. He worked for the Town of Middlebury for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, loved to watch the Ox pulls and was a people person.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Steven Crownshaw of Punta Gorda, FL and George Crownshaw Jr. of Torrington, two daughters Darlene Crownshaw of Orlando, FL and Dawn Armbruster of Terryville, two brothers Tom Warner of Port Orange, FL and Vernon Crownshaw of Middlebury, two sisters Arlene Wilkas of Woodbury and Katie Veilleux of Oakville, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by four sisters, Louise, Dorothy, Joan and Belle and a brother Bobby.
A graveside service will be held on Friday June 1st at 11am at New North Cemetery, Washington Ave., Woodbury. Calling hours will be held from 9am until the time of burial from the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Meriden Executive Park, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
