IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Gregory
Adams
August 19, 1946 – June 20, 2023
Florida, Formerly of Middlebury-
With a broken heart we announce the passing of George Gregory Adams, 76 years old, who lived in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with his wife of 40 years Terri Cabral Adams. George died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
George was born in Jamaica, New York on August 19, 1946 to George Gedemin Adams and Lucy Prasauckas Adams. Shortly after, with the passing of his father, George and his mother Lucy moved to Middlebury, Connecticut where he resided for well over 60 years. George loved the town of Middlebury and at the young age of 13 joined the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department's Auxiliary Youth Group, afterwards joining the department as a fireman and EMT; and retired as a veteran member. He proudly served as a Lieutenant in Vietnam for 2 years and was honorably discharged from the United States Army with a purple heart and many more accolades.
George graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He worked for 18 years at Grolier Enterprises Inc in Danbury, Connecticut and quickly earned his way to Vice President of Acquisitions. In 1989, George and Terri started their own ventures. Commemoratives Adams and Adams, a direct marketing company that marketed to colleges and universities; and Mailplex, an addressing, mailing and fulfillment company were started by the duo. The companies were operated in Middlebury at 896 Middlebury Rd, fondly known to residents as the "old post office". The couple also owned PakMail at PGA in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
His greatest joy was family. He was a passionate husband, devoted father, and adored Grandfather. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of the Adams clan. He was predeceased by his parents George and Lucy. George is survived by his soul mate and best friend, Terri of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and mother-in-law, Betty Cabral of Danbury, Connecticut. George leaves behind four children Michelle Adams of Bend, Oregon, Nicole Adams (Devin) Linden of Golden, Colorado, Veronica Adams (Phillip) Platt of Stamford, Connecticut, and George Benjamin Adams of Riverview, Florida. He also leaves 2 grandchildren, Kalie Marie Linden and Jaxson George Platt.
He was the family's mentor, advisor, handyman, and one that never missed an opportunity to cheer his children and grandchildren on. George was strong willed, with an enormous heart, and wonderful sense of humor. He held and shared a vast wealth of knowledge earned through life experiences. He carried himself with dignity, love and strength till the moment he passed. He was a source of inspiration and will be deeply missed.
