Obituary


Genevere (Gen) Jacaruso Moynihan, wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and soldier, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29 at the grand age of 95.

Gen graduated from Columbia University and Northeastern University's Nurse Practitioner Program after serving with the U.S. Army's 75th Station Hospital from 1942-46. She was one of the first nurses on Okinawa and earned the rank of Lieutenant. She later served as Director of Nursing at Hackensack Hospital in NJ. Gen retired from the post of Director of School Nurses for the Town of Framingham.

She enjoyed all Boston sports, but especially her New England Patriots and Tom Brady.

Gen is survived by her daughter Maryanne, wife of Brian Van Aken, and granddaughters Kaitlyn and Lauren. As family matriarch she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gen was pre-deceased by her spouse Joseph F. Moynihan Sr. and son Joseph F. Moynihan Jr.

Services: Graveside services to be held Monday, April 4 at 11: 30 AM at St. Stephens Cemetery, Fenwick St., Framingham, MA.

Visitation: Calling hours to be held Sunday, April 3 from 3: 00-6: 00 PM at McCarthy, McKinney, and Lawler Funeral Home LLC, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, MA.
