Frank E.
Morgan
August 17, 1956 – June 29, 2023
Frank E. Morgan, aged 66, passed peacefully surrounded by family at St Mary's Hospital after a courageous 6-year battle with cancer. Frank was the beloved husband of Janet (Burritt) Morgan for 37 years. Born in Waterbury, he was the son of the late Frank M. Morgan and Mildred L. Morgan of Cheshire.
He graduated from Holy Cross High in '75 and lived in Woodbury for 56 years. Frank was always active in the community. He was a former member of the Woodbury Police Department and Woodbury Ambulance Association. He was also a member of the Woodbury Fire Department since 1976, having served as Captain for both companies as well as Deputy Chief for 10 years. Additionally, he served as Master of King Solomons Lodge No. 7 in Woodbury as well as Patron of Goodwill Chapter #112 Order of the Eastern Star. Frank retired from Woodbury Telephone (SNET, SBC, AT&T) after 45 years of service, more recently from Shakers Automotive Group in Watertown.
He shared his love of the outdoors, achieved the rank 'Life' in the BSA, and spent summers as an assistant Ranger at Camp Mattatuck. He loved to hunt and fish with his brothers, father, and grandson. He always looked forward to the time spent with his brothers and their significant others in the Caribbean and on the golf course.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred of Cheshire; loving wife, Janet; his daughters, Sharon Rosas and her husband Pedro of Watertown CT, Jessica Morgan and her wife Vicky of Albany NY; his grandchildren, Michael Morgan and Izabelle Rosas; his siblings, Margret Pelsinksi and her husband Paul of Box Elder, South Dakota, Jean Walker of Stratford, Connecticut, Robert Morgan and his wife Kathleen of Coventry, Rhode Island and Rev. Daniel Morgan and his wife Kristin of Copley, Ohio; and a wealth of nieces and nephews.
Frank is predeceased by his father, Frank M. Morgan.
Calling hours will be Friday July 7, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Woodbury Senior Center, 281 Main St. S., Woodbury. A funeral service will be held Saturday July 8, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main St. S., Woodbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a monetary donation to either the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department, The American Cancer Society or make a blood donation to the American Red Cross.
