SOUTHBURY – Frank R. Lombardo, age 77, passed away on February 19th after a brief illness. He was born on February 8, 1949, in Waterbury, the son of the late Robert and Mildred Lombardo and was a lifelong resident of Waterbury.

Frank was a huge sports enthusiast, playing softball on his former employer Wheeler Electronics team, bowling in area leagues, coaching St. Lucy’s 5th-8th basketball, and a fan of UConn men's and women's basketball, NY Yankees and NY Giants. He attended Mary Abbott Grammer School and graduated from Crosby High School.

Frank retired from the USPS, Hartford. He enjoyed trips out west to visit his special cousin, Phyliss, trips with friends to the casino, daily walks in the neighborhood and the mall, attending UConn games with his friend, Caroline, and as a devout Catholic, he attended daily mass along with his friends, George and Maria.

Frank is survived by his devoted Godson, Erik Grudzien, and family who helped with his care in later years, and his many caring cousins. A special thanks goes to the staff at The Lutheran Home of Southbury.

Arrangements: Funeral services and burial are private and at the convenience of the family. Munson Lovetere Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. For additional information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com
