SANDY HOOK-Mr. Francis J. Bresson, 98 of Bennetts Bridge Road, Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Ann Barbara (Kelly) Bresson.
Francis was born September 20, 1917 in Sandy Hook, CT. Son of the late Frederick and Mary (Qubick) Bresson. Raised in Sandy Hook his family operated a large dairy farm on Bennetts Bridge Road. Francis was an avid outdoors man and loved gardening and making homemade wine. Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during World War II in the Transportation Corp. assigned to the Army Air Corp. bases in the Asiatic Pacific theatre, where he saw combat in two battle campaigns. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal, two Bronze Battle Stars, Philippines Liberation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, and Connecticut Service Member Medal. He also served in New Guinea and Southern Philippines. After his service Francis operated the family dairy farm with his late brother, Fred Bresson, until the early 1960's.
He leaves three sons, Francis E. Bresson and his wife Janet of Southbury, Robert J. Bresson and his wife Wendy of New Milford, and Kenneth J. Bresson and his wife Diane of Southbury. He was blessed with grandchildren Sheri Bresson Fitzpatrick and husband Ed, Karen Bresson, Danielle and Meghan Bresson, Kelley Johnson, Kristin Sheppard, and Leigh Holahan. Two sisters, Anna Maye and Mary Maye. A sister-in-law, Julie Duda and family of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Services: A Christian Mass will be held at Saint Rose Church in Newtown on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 12: 00 P.M. Burial will follow with full military honors at Saint Rose Cemetery in Sandy Hook.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held on Friday June 10, 2016 from 5: 00 - 7: 00 P.M.at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury.
