Southbury, Francesann S. Fairbairn, of Southbury, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Ms. Fairbairn was born on November 7, 1942 in New Haven to the late Anne (Simiola) Sapiente and the late Anthony Sapiente. Francesann was dean of the State Academy of Hairdressing from 1966 to 1969. She also pursued a career as a local real estate agent in Southbury for 20 years. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family and traveling.

She is survived by a son John Fairbairn and his wife Sandi of Woodbury, a daughter Anne (Fairbairn) Catapano and her husband Frank of Middlebury, sons Anthony Fairbairn and his wife Amy of Bethlehem, Christopher Fairbairn and his wife Melissa of Maryland. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and her former husband, Charles John Fairbairn of Simsbury.

She was predeceased by an infant son Anthony Stephen.

Services: A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 6th at 11: 30 a.m. at St. Teresa's Church, 11 Washington Ave., Woodbury.
