Obituary

Frances H. Davis, 102, of Woodbury, died peaceably Saturday December 13, 2014 at the Middlebury Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Harold (Bud) Davis. Frances was born May 20, 1912 in Southbury, daughter of the late John Denis and Delia Beirne Hunihan. She was a 1929 graduate of Wilby High School and in 1931 graduated from the Danbury Normal School. Frances taught at several one room schools, including Kettletown in Southbury and Kissawaug in Middlebury. She retired from the Woodbury Telephone Co. as Office Manager after 25 years of service. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury and served as Eucharistic Minister. She is survived by her daughter, Diana D. Smith of Lakewood, CO, and her son, Harold W. (Bill) Davis and his wife Kayanne of Southbury; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one nephew. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret (Rita) Woodhouse and Ethel Hunihan. The family wishes to thank the care givers and staff at Middlebury Convalescent Home for the expert and compassionate care of Frances for more than 10 years.

Location: Munson-Lovetere Woodbury

Funeral: St. Teresa's Church

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 18 at 10am at St. Teresa's Church, Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will follow in the Southford Cemetery, Oxford.

Visitation: Calling hours will be at 9am Thursday until the time we leave for mass at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St.
