IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Floyd Lewis
Judson
November 9, 1928 – August 23, 2024
In loving memory of Floyd Lewis Judson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, in Woodbury, Connecticut at the age of 95. Born on November 9, 1928, Floyd was a proud 9th generation descendant of Woodbury founding father Lt. Joseph Judson. Floyd's roots ran deep in Woodbury, where he spent his life working hard on family dairy farms and at the O&G quarry. With a career spanning over three decades with the State of Connecticut DOT, Floyd dedicated himself to his work as a heavy-equipment operator. But beyond his professional endeavors, Floyd found immense joy in his passions for farming, working with oxen, hunting, fishing, and RV traveling across the eastern United States. One of Floyd's most impressive accomplishments was he began skiing at 60 years old. A man of simple pleasures, Floyd cherished moments spent with loved ones over a cup of coffee, always eager to catch up with family and friends. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren mature and succeed, finding utmost contentment in their growth and accomplishments.
Floyd was pre-deceased by his father: Prentice W. Judson, mother: Vera F. Judson, siblings: Wilbur Judson, Edla Burdick, Irma Strattman, Franklin Judson, Donald Judson and grandson: Steven L. Judson.
Floyd's memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Joan Judson, with whom he shared 73 years of love and devotion. He is survived by his children, David Judson (Martha), Terry Springsteen (William), Cynthia Shannon (Thomas), Beverly Albert (Don), along with grandchildren: Christine Judson, Rebecca Cheezic, Donald Albert Jr., Heather Springsteen and Michelle Innis, great-grandchildren: Dylan Albert, Corporal David Albert, Max Cheezic, Anna Cheezic and his sister, Dorothy Gagnon. Calling hours for Floyd will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street Woodbury, CT. This is an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy. Church service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:00 am, at First Congregational Church, 214 Main Street South, Woodbury, CT. Followed by a burial at New North Cemetery, Woodbury. May his gentle spirit and unwavering love continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
