Obituary

Devoted husband, father & grandfather
Mr. Floyd Bruce Drake, Sr., 89, of Bethlehem died Monday November 19, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Ann (McGuire) Drake.
Mr. Drake was born August 28, 1923 in Terryville, a son of the late Morgan Lucius and Laura Ida (Cables) Drake. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp having served during WWII. He was a member of the VFW post #7788 and an American vets life time member post #1. He loved the Bethlehem community and enjoyed all animals including frequently visiting his daughter's horse barn.
The family would like to thank Liz, Bill, Amanda, Brenda and Kelly, his caregivers at All About You Home Care Services that were like family to him. Because of those services and Dr. Traeger, he was allowed to live his life out at home and reached his life goals.
He is survived by a daughter, Sue Peterson of Oxford; a son, Floyd Bruce Drake, Jr. of Florida; a sister, Frances Lawrence of Southbury; grandchildren, Yvonne Gamelin and her husband Richard of Roxbury, Floyd Bruce Drake, III "Rusty" of West Haven, Chrissy Drake - Agnew of Texas and Jason Drake of West Haven; great grandchildren, Ricky, Andre and Aiva, all of Roxbury and several other Drake family members whom he looked forward to spending time with at the annual Drake family reunion. He was predeceased by 3 children, Gayle Kratzer, Paul Drake and Warren Drake, 2 sisters, Phyllis Anderson and Edna Brebo and 2 brothers, Elmer Drake and Gordon Drake.
