Ferris F. "Bud" Thomas, of Woodbury, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital due to complications from a fall earlier this month. He passed peacefully with his wife Joyce and son Scott by his side. He was the husband of Joyce (MacDonald) Thomas. Bud was born December 29, 1926 in Waterbury, son of the late Ferris B. and Mary (Allen) Thomas. Bud was a lifelong carpenter who worked for various companies including the F. B. Matson Company and W.J. McGin and was a member of the CT Carpenters Union, Local 24. He was a veteran of the Army, serving as a Technician Fifth Grade on Luzon Island in the Philippines. A lifelong resident of Woodbury, he was a member of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Post #155 and a member of the North Congregational Church. Bud enjoyed bird watching, playing practical jokes on his friends and puttering around the house and yard. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert H. Thomas of Stuart, FL and Ferris Scott Thomas and his wife Tricia of Newnan, GA; two daughters, Sandra Thomas Johnson and her husband Carl of Seguin, TX and Susan Thomas-Rapillo of Woodbury, 7 grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at the VITAS Unit at Waterbury Hospital for all the great care given to Bud.

Services: Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3 at 11: 00 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St. Burial will be in New North Cemetery, Woodbury.

Visitation: Calling hours to be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
