Mrs. Evelyn A. Suchenski, 80, of Woodbury and beloved wife of 36 years to Louis C. Suchenski died peacefully on Saturday January 13th at the home of her son Wayne W. Wahlenmeier and his wife Rebecca of Berkeley, California. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Farro) Kempf. A resident of Woodbury since 1974, she was an avid bowler having bowled on many championship teams at The Westport and Norwalk Bowling Alleys. She was an active skydiver having completed over 100 jumps. A skilled seamstress, she designed, as well as made many of her clothes.
Survivors in addition to her devoted husband and son are a grandson, SGT 1st Class Wayne Wahlenmeier stationed in Georgia, three great grandchildren, Hunter, Savannah, and Chase, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister Edward and Florence Kempf.
Friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Saturday January 20th at St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury at 10am. Calling hours will be held on Friday January 19th from 4 - 7pm at The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St. Burial will take place at New North Cemetery, Woodbury in the spring.
