Obituary


Mrs. Evelyn Kerin, 77, of Southbury died Wednesday December 4, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Kenneth Kerin.
Mrs. Kerin was born March 10, 1936 in East Hartford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Annette Brown. She worked many years at the National Headquarters of the DAR in Washington, D.C., as a genealogist and volunteered with various historic and patriotic organizations. She even traced her own family tree back to the 1600's in Connecticut. After retirement 17 years ago, she and her husband moved to Southbury where she became an active supporter of the Glebe House in Woodbury. Mrs. Kerin was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution and the Colonial Dames. She loved her grandchildren most of all and always tried to spend as much time with them as possible.
In addition to her loving husband of 52 years, she is survived by three children, Susan Kerin of Rockville, MD, Christopher Kerin and his wife Andrea of Weston, Stephanie Rapp and her husband Edwin of Denver, CO, and four grandchildren, Jacqueline Kerin, Sultan Bakir, Sophia Rapp and Isabella Rapp.
