Esther Greene of Woodbury passed away August 15. She is survived by her husband Randall, sons Eddie and Richard Ayers, and many friends. Esther was born in Santa Paula, California, and moved to Southbury in 1981 with Eddie L. Ayers, her previous husband and father of her two children. Between the mid '80s and late '90s, she managed the South Britain Country Store. Customers and coworkers knew her for her personability, sense of humor, and generous sandwiches. She later moved on to work at The Hearth where she quickly advanced to head housekeeper. Her work ethic was impeccable, and she went out of her way to help others.
