Mrs. Erna K. Pivetz, 78, of Heritage Crest in Southbury died Sunday April 24, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of Leo Pivetz. Born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, Mrs. Pivetz survived many bombings during WWII before moving to the United States in 1954. She lived in Flushing, New York where she met her husband Leo. They were married for 48 years.
Mrs. Pivetz worked for The Zale Corporation for 25 years as a computer programmer. They moved to Connecticut in 1999. Line dancing was her favorite pastime, but most of all the friendships she shared were her most desirable passion.
