Erma Ruth Brown of Southbury, CT and Lake Leelanau, MI, died Sunday May 20 at Waterbury Hospital. She was 90 years old.

Born August 10, 1916 in Alliance, NE, she was graduated in 1937 from the University of Nebraska, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Mortar Board.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Chapman Cleaver Brown. She is survived by five children, Davison C. Brown of Stevensville, MI., Dr. Kent B. Brown of Shalimar, FL., Cynthia J. Howe of Darien, CT., Elizabeth A. Huffaker of Maryville, TN., Tracy G. Brown of Manassas, VA; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed using her sewing skills to help others. She took daily walks year round and when in Michigan looked forward to her nightly swims in the lake. She could be seen on her two mile walk one week before her death.
