EMILY WHEELER AYRE

Emily Wheeler Ayre, formerly of Woodbury, Connecticut died unexpectedly at her home in
South Boston , MA on August 11, 2011.

Born May 28, 1984 she was the Beloved daughter of Jonathan and Nancy Ayre of Woodbury, Connecticut
Beloved sister of Amanda and Abigail, Beloved granddaughter of the Reverend and Mrs. A Russell Ayre of Woodbury, CT and Village of Golf, FL and the late Edgar and Harriette Redington, Beloved girlfriend of Brian Cote and their dog, Dover.

Emily attended the Woodbury public schools. While at Mitchell Elementary School, she was designated a Presidential Scholar. She played on the first middle school soccer girls team, which was undefeated for the years she played for them. She earned several awards for her academic achievements and outstanding character at Woodbury Middle School and Nonnewaug High School.

While at Nonnewaug High School, she played varsity soccer for 4 years where her team meant the world to her.
While at Nonnewaug, she was a Berkshire League All-Star in both soccer and tennis. Emily's years at Boston College were some of her most special memories with her pals in the mods. Emily graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and English and a Master's degree in Guidance/Counseling and Education .Emily was most recently employed as a middle school guidance counselor at The Pierce Middle School in Milton, MA. Emily attended Camp Woodstock in Woodstock Valley, CT for 11 summers. She started as a camper and over the years she was a counselor, a water front director, and an LIT Director.

It was her relationships with the children and peers at camp that fostered her true spirit and love for life. She touched more lives at camp then most people will touch in a lifetime. Emily will be remembered for her love of books, her love of dogs, her love of Boston sports, UCONN men's basketball, her amazing ability to create with words, her love of Boston College , and her loyalty to her friends and her family, especially her sisters.

Emily will also be greatly missed by her many aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Emily touched all those whose path she crossed and will never be forgotten.






Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Camp Woodstock , 42 Camp Road , Woodstock Valley , CT 06282 .

Location: Munson-Lovetere Woodbury

Services: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11am at The First Congregational Church, 36 Main Street, New Milford , CT 06776.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
