Elton L. Hallock Jr.
April 17, 1935 - August 4, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elton "Bud" L. Hallock Jr. and Joyce Elaine Hallock, who left us only 8 days apart. Devoted to each other all their lives, their extraordinary love story began when he was just 15 and she was 14, forming a bond that stood the test of time. They were married for 69 beautiful years.
Bud was a beloved father, husband, grandfather and proud veteran, whose life touched many in his community and beyond. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandparent and friendly face to shoppers at the Woodbury Pewter and Lighting Gallery.
They spent 55 years together in Southbury, where they became a cornerstone of their community. A dedicated veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Bud served his country with honor and pride. Bud spent his working life driving tractor trailers and was a proud Teamster for over 60 years.
Bud and Joyce are survived by their loving daughters Kelli (Kerry) Simmons of Southbury, Patti (Jeff) Hallock of Middlebury, and Kim Lawlor of Farmington. They were cherished grandparents to their grandsons, Brendon (Suzie) Dwyer and Trent (Meghan) Dwyer. Joyce also leaves behind her siblings, Gail McCarty of Darby, MT, and Thomas (Barbara) Anderson of Brookfield, along with several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in honor of Bud and Joyce can be made to Toys for Tots and the Animals for Life, two causes that reflect their generous spirit and love, as well as an organization greatly supported by the Marines.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11am in New North Cemetery, 87 Washington Ave. Woodbury, Connecticut 06798. To leave an online condolence, please visit munsonloveterefuneralhome.com.
