Mrs. Elmira Jane Daniel, 85, of Southbury, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. She was the husband of David Daniel of Pomperaug Woods. Mrs. Daniel was born January 23, 1928 in Branford, daughter of the late Arthur and Violet (Malboeuf) Doolittle. Mrs. Daniel received her bachelor's degree from Mary Washington College and was a retired social worker, working for the State of CT. She was an ardent golfer and shot a Hole in One. As a high school bowler, she won a state championship in Duckpin Bowling. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son from her first marriage, Grant Briggs and two granddaughters, Allison and Samantha, all of Killingworth; three sisters, Marjorie Pauk of North Andover, MA, Harriet Sutfin of Brookline, MA and Anne Eastwood of Venice, Florida.
