Ellen Windemere (Parsons) Strong passed away at her home in Grace Meadows, Southbury. Ellen was born in Sandy Hook to Vivian Wetmore and Birdsay Parsons. The love of her life was her family and church. She joined South Britain Congregational Church in 1970 where she was a deaconess for 10 years and a member of the women's fellowship and president for 12 years. You could always find Ellen at the apron table at the Yule Tide Fair and Apple Festival. She is survived by one sister, Sylvia Davidson and her husband Howard of Trumball, CT and by her daughters, Vivian Lawson and husband Greg of Palmya, Maine, Marjorie MacPherson and her husband Robin of Canaan, Maine, Bernice Corliss and her husband Clarence formerly of Clifton, Tennessee, step-daughter Adele Geisel and her husband Bill of New Milford and Step-son Dick Strong and his wife Mary Ann of Bethany. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Ellen McGlincey of West Newfield, Maine, Susan McCaw of Palmyra, Maine, Robert MacPherson of West Baldwin, Maine and John MacPherson of West Newfield, Maine, Anne Ayotte of Warner, New Hampshire, Scott MacPherson of Akron, Ohio, Edwin Corliss of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Douglas Corliss of Savannah, Tennessee, and Kevin Corliss of Savannah, Tennessee, twelve great grandchildren and four great - great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ellen was famous in her family for never forgetting anyone's birthday with a card. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Strong, a sister Isobel Barth, two brothers, Francis and Bradford Parsons and a granddaughter Ginger MacPherson and her beloved Buffy. Funeral Arrangements are by the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Funeral Service at 3:00pm at the Funeral Home. Calling hours from 1:00pm until the time of service. Burial is at the Zoar Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Rt. 34., Monday November 6th at 9:30am.
