Ellen Ann Shepherd, a resident of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Oxford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving daughters.  A graduate of West Haven High School, she received her bachelor's and masters of education from Southern CT State College. Ellen was an elementary school teacher until her retirement. A friend to many, she was a long-time member of the community of Oxford where she was leader and president of Oxford Girl Scouts and Junior Women's Club. She was an avid quilter and member of Nutmeg Quilters, Peacemakers Guild, Quilting Guild of the Villages and past president of Southford Falls Quilters. Ellen was a lover of the ocean, travel, and a glass of Pinot Grigio. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage and had recently traveled to Lithuania. Ellen looked forward to Christmas every year, decorating her home with multiple Christmas trees and a large Santa collection. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Shepherd, and her parents Irene and Levy Zatulskis. Ellen is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Sinnott (Raymond) of New York, Lindsey Belman (Jonathan) of New Jersey, 3 grandchildren, Emilia, Noah and Benjamin and her 3 sisters, Joan Cormier, Lynn Oaks, and Janet Martins. Calling hours for Ellen will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 4:00- 6:00 PM at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, CT. A Church service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oxford Congregational Church, 3 Academy Road, Oxford, CT. Interment will follow at the Oxford Congregational Cemetery.
