Elizabeth Marie Bentham 91, affectionatly known as Betty passed away March 2, 2023 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was born on November 17, 1931 to parents Harold and Marie Parsons in Westbrook, Maine.

Betty was proudly known as a longtime resident of Seymour.

Betty is predeceased by her loving husband John (Larry) Bentham Jr., her son Richard Bentham, and her daughter Lori Bentham. She is lovingly survived by her son William (Bill) Bentham and his life partner Dianna Villafana of Sandy Hook; her cherished grandchildren, as well as, friends and family.

Betty will be remembered most importantly as a devouted mother and friend. She took joy in turning a house into a home. Betty's home was consistently the center of gatherings; friends and family always knew they could count on Betty for a delicious homecooked meal and warm conversation. Betty was an avid reader and frequently indulged in getting lost in a good book. In addition, she took great pleasure in yearly summer trips with her family back to Maine. She will also be remembered as a compassionate individual who held animals close to her heart. Especially, her precious cat Dave who crossed the rainbow bridge this past summer.
